Boom for 3/25/15: The Return of Hit!

This Week in BOOM!

Adventure TimeAside from one plot device that felt really jarring, I really enjoyed the first Hit series, so I’m excited to see a new one hitting the stands.

Abigail And The Snowman #4 (Cover A Roger Landridge), $4.99

For a minute, I got excited because there’s no (of 4) next to the title, but, alas, this is the finale.  But it’s oversized!

Adventure Time #38 (Cover A Shanti Rittgers), $3.99
Adventure Time #38 (Cover B Mahendra Singh), $3.99
Adventure Time #38 (Cover C Ze Burney), AR

I’m roughly, oh, 37 issues behind on this series, but the cover by Shanti Rittgers is reason enough to buy this without having read any of the previous issues.  It’s fantastic.

Clive Barker’s Nightbreed #11 (Cover A Christopher Mitten), $3.99

Speaking of covers, Christopher Mitten is a hell of an artist.  This series is written by Marc Andreyko who’s a solid writer and a super nice guy, so give it a shot.

Curb Stomp #2 (Of 4)(Cover A Devaki Neogi), $3.99

Uncool opinion time: I was not floored by the first issue of this series.  I know that makes me lame.  I thought the pacing was really off and the dialogue felt standard.  That said, the concept is interesting in a 70s exploitation way.  I liked it, just not the way that everyone I know did.

Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes #5 (Of 6)(Cover A Christopher Mitten), $3.99
Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes #5 (Of 6)(Cover B Hazard Graffiti), AR

More apes!

Hit 1957 #1 (Of 4)(Cover A Vanesa Del Rey), $3.99
Hit 1957 #1 (Of 4)(Cover B Trevor Hairsine), AR
Hit 1957 #1 (Of 4)(Cover C Dustin Nguyen), AR
Hit 1957 #1 (Of 4)(Cover D Terry Dodson), $3.99

Oh, yeah!  Seriously, the first Hit series was just a lot of fun, particularly if you’re a fan of noir or old Los Angeles or both.  Really looking forward to Hitthis.

March Of The Crabs Volume 1 The Crabby Condition HC, $19.99

I know nothing about this story, but I do know that it looks great, like Pixar storyboards or something of that nature.  That alone is reason enough to give it a shot.

Munchkin #3 (Cover A Ian McGinty), $3.99
Munchkin #3 (Cover B Chris Schweizer) AR

More Munchkin!  More gaming fun!  More stuff I don’t understand but will need to figure out!

Regular Show 2015 March Madness Special #1 (One Shot)(Cover A Rian Sygh), $4.99
Regular Show 2015 March Madness Special #1 (One Shot)(Cover B Fellipe Martins), AR

Oh, man, is this really about NCAA basketball?  Because that sounds completely bonkers.

Suicide Risk #23 (Cover A Stephanie Hans), $3.99

Some day in the (hopefully) not so distant future, my son will sleep through the night and I will have the time to read all of Suicide Risk.
