Chase Magnett reads Transmetropolitan v1: Reboot Comic Book Club

Joseph Kyle Schmidt
October 26, 2015
Reboot Comic Book Club

It’s our first regular episode on Comics Bulletin and we are more than happy to use this occasion to invite contributor and old friend Chase Magnett to talk some awesome comics once again.

New books like Karnak and Wic+Div are discussed. We talk about ethics, intent, and advertising in comics blogging and journalism. And we hope you like hearing grown men gush about Nicholas Kristoff columns, because dammit that’s what you’re getting on this podcast.

We also discuss This Week’s Book, Transmetropolitan by Warren Ellis, Darrick Robertson, et al. It’s Hunter S. Thompson meets Tom Wolfe meets Nicholas Kristoff meets a metric fuckton of ayahuasca and cocaine. And you’re trying to tell me this is ’90s Ellis? JFC.

Download the episode here, subscribe to future episodes with iTunes and Stitcher, or view the Archives here.

Next week James Asmus returns to the program to discuss We Can Never Go Home from Black Mask Studios! WUB WUB!

Outro: “Death Defying Acts” by Angus & Julia Stone
