Back in 2012 Columbia Pictures acquired the film rights to Valiant comic books. Their goal is to make 5 movies, two Bloodshot, two Harbinger and the final one being a crossover between the two titles. Names were floating out there stating Jared Leto and Vin Diesel at different times were being considered to play the main character, Bloodshot. It has been confirmed Vin Diesel will be playing that character. Production for that movie has started in August 2018 and wrapped filming in October 2018 with the release date of February 2020.
Vin Diesel posted on his Instagram a picture and a phrase, “let the Valiant era begin…”
Can Vin Diesel carry a movie? Other than Fast and Furious franchise, his movies don’t do so well. Yes, he provided the voice of Groot in the Marvel movies but Groot is a supporting character and you don’t see Vin Diesel in those movies. Will Bloodshot do well with Vin Diesel or will it be another movie people forget?
Angelo Mortalli (Bloodshot) were created in 1992 by Kevin VanHook, Bob Layton and Don Perlin. His first appearance was in Eternal Warriors #4 (November 1992). Bloodshot has superhuman strength, agility, stamina, endurance and healing factor due to nanites injected in his blood. Bloodshot was one of the best-selling Valiant comic books.
However, that is not Bloodshot on the cover of Eternal Warriors 4.
This is Bloodshot here.
