Sony announced in August 2018, they have hired a writer, Richard Wenk, to develop a movie for Kraven the Hunter. Wenk is famous for writing Equalizer 2 (movie in July 2018). No new news on this movie recently other than the writers of Avengers: Endgame stated they like to explore this movie.
Kraven first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man vol 1 #15 (August 1964) published by Marvel Comics written by Stan Lee and drawn by Steve Ditko. Kraven after ingesting potion from unknown jungle herbs, got Ultra Instinct abilities. The potion slows down his aging. He has the ability to withstand injury. The potion enhances his sight, smell and hearing.
Kraven belong to the Sinister Six team ( a team includes Dr. Octopus, Vulture, Electro, Mysterio and Sandman). He lives by a code. He hunts his game fairly. Kraven wants to beat Spider-Man fair and square. He doesn’t want anyone to help him defeat Spider-Man. His famous storyline is “Kraven’s Last Hunt”. The movie will be based on that storyline. It was 6-part storyline that ran through Web of Spiderman 31-32, Amazing Spider-man 293-294 and Spectacular Spider-man 131-132. Web of Spiderman 31 is part 1. This comic book, Web of Spiderman 13 CGC 9.8, was sold for $120 on Sept 18 and Sept 25. A recent copy of Web of Spiderman 13 CGC 9.8, sold for $82.00 on April 15. Prices went down surprisingly?
I am looking forward to this movie. I enjoyed reading Spider-Man comic books when I was little, still enjoy reading them now. Not quite sure how they are going to make a movie without Spider-Man or maybe Sony will include him. Venom movie didn’t have Spider-Man but Venom movie did great in the box office.
A copy of Amazing Spider-Man vol 1 #15 CGC 6.5 sold for $850.00 back in August. Couldn’t find a recent copy of CGC 6.5 but 8.0 sold for $2,137 on October 9. There was a best offer accepted of $2,095 for Amazing Spider-Man vol 1 #15 CGC 7.5 on February 18.
On the lower end of the grade, they are still affordable. Some recent sales on ebay:
CGC 4.0 : $779.99 on May 3
CGc 3.5 : $435 on April 21
CGC 3.0 : $400 on April 19
CGC 2.5: $360 on April 29 and $387 on April 28.
Final Recommendation: Buy and Hold
