Paranoid Video 1.23- Mostly Gray, or A Study in Glacier Movements

A column article, Paranoid Video by: Dylan Garsee, Nick Hanover, Janelle Revord

No longer content to merely review television through the creative use of Friskies gifs and awkward jokes, Dylan Garsee and Nick Hanover have moved on to the internet airwaves, co-hosting CB's own entertainment podcast, Paranoid Video.

Paranoid Video Episode 1.23-

"Mostly Gray, or A Study in Glacier Movements"

This is another Oscars-centric podcast this week, because we recorded it in a semi-drunk state after going to a top secret Oscar party in Austin. That is also why there's a mysterious low frequency hum ruining things, as well as random tech glitches sprinkled throughout, because really, friends don't let friends podcast in semi-inebriated states. But even with all that goofery, I think this is a pretty good Oscar discussion we had, which is likely because we brought in Oscar superstar James Pound, who has guested on Paranoid Video before, way back when we were discussing what would happen in Breaking Bad's season finale. James was at the top secret Oscar party with us, and we bribed him with booze and trapped him in the ghost house to break down this unfortunately bland awards ceremony celebrating one of the better years for film in recent memory.

As always, you can listen to the episode at the player below or download it here

Oscars Trophy

Since we spent the entire episode dissecting this Oscars ceremony, there is no bumper music, just our usual theme song, but there are some notes to share.

First off, here's Chris Pratt in Ellen underwear, since Janelle insisted I share it with all of you:

And here's Wendel, the tranny cat Janelle found:

James was also dead on in his guess about Mr. Skin, as that website has now added a video with all of the nude scenes Seth MacFarlane mentioned. I will not link it, because I am sure you know how to google.

And of course, here are your podcast hosts, beginning with silent partner Jason "Yakety" Sacksboy:

Now for our non-cloth hosts, beginning with Janelle Revord:

And in case you want to know what we look like, here is a visual representation of Dylan and myself, courtesy of Emily Marie Palmer:

Dylan Garsee is a freelance writer/bingo enthusiast currently living in Austin, TX. He is studying sociology, and when he's not winning trivia nights at pork-themed restaurants, writing a collection of essays on the gay perspective in geek culture. An avid record collector, Dylan can mostly be seen at Waterloo Records, holding that one God Speed You! Black Emperor record he can't afford and crying. You can follow him on twitter @garseed.

Nick Hanover doesn't want to set the world on fire, unless he has to, which seems increasingly more likely each day. As Co-Managing Editor of Comics Bulletin, he most looks forward to making subliterate internet commenters angry and forcing his record collection on unsuspecting readers through his comic, film and television reviews and miscellaneous other pop culture pieces for the site. He promises to update Panel Panopticon more this year, but you can always find his odd rants about his potentially psychopathic roommate on twitter @Nick_Hanover or explore the world of his musical alter ego at Fitness.

Janelle Revord is one of the few authentically born and raised Austinites you'll ever encounter in your lifetime. When she's not yelling at people who have just moved to town to "get off her lawn," or attempting to holla at celebrities to get drinks with her when guest-hosting on CB's own Paranoid Video, you can find her on twitter basically doing the exact same thing in 140 characters or less.
