Comics You Can Dance To #3: Kate Leth and the Live Horse Birth

Comics You Can Dance To is Comics Bulletin's official podcast!

Hosted by Nathaniel MacDonald and Danny Djeljosevic (that's me) and supported by various jokers and guests, Comics You Can Dance To is devoted to discussing cool comics, pop culture nonsense and hopefully introducing you to some awesome music along the way.

I'm always excited to post a new episode for you guys, but this week I'm extra excited because our special guest is Kate Leth — burgeoning comics creator, Internet personality, Comics Bulletin columnist, all-around awesome person. She's super cool and incredibly fun to talk to, even as we discussed Mountain Dew Code Red, Mad Libs, theme parks and baby horses.

Kate Leth

She has a comic in the upcoming Locke & Key: Guide to Known Keys one-shot, which may come out this week, but might actually debut in a week or two. It might be delayed.

Also, since we bring it up, here's what my Skype profile pic looks like:

Plus!

Rafael Gaitan joins us for some weekly comic talk. Even though we set up barricades.

Listen at the player thingie below, or click here to download.

Also! We are now on iTunes! Go subscribe and leave us a review!

Sorry, no Matthew Z. Rios Tales From Re…tail this week. Scheduling problems. But here's a video of Matt and I talking about comics for the shop he works out.

Here are the comics we talked about!

Here's the playlist for this episode!

Music for Comics You Can Dance To is curated by Notable Beast. Click on the links to check out the artists and/or full versions of the songs. The theme song is always "Chnam oun Dop-Pram Muy (I'm 16)" by Ros Sereysothea.

As for the rest…

  • Death – "Politicians in My Eyes"
  • ESG – "Erase You (Puppy to Your Side)"
  • James & Evander – "Turtle Two"

Here's how you find us on the Internet! (Besides on CB, of course)

  • Make sure to follow Kate Leth at @aftertheschism, check out her Tumblr, her Etsy Store aaaaand her column here at Comics Bulletin!
  • Nate verbally accosts indie rock starlets at @lentilstew
  • Danny makes exclamations that gives his sister cause for concern at @djeljosevic
  • Matt is tweeting a teensy bit more than he used to at @tikisideburns
  • Rafael tweets out-of-context snippets from writing projects at @bearsurprise
  • Andrew Tan usually edits the podcast. I did it again again again this week, but you should still follow him at @TandrewTan because he fantasizes about Kanye West.

As always, leave a comment and let us know what we're doing right! Or email us. That works, too.
