I was sittin’ here daydreamin’ when I should’ve been workin’. I had just finished goin’ through all the comic book news websites and checkin’ out all the latest info when I found myself thinkin’ out loud?

“I wish?”

I found myself wishin’ for all sorts of things in comics. It made me stop and think that we all do just that every day.

We wish.

I thought I’d share of few of my out loud wishes with you. I figure we might even agree on a few of em’.

I wish that there wasn’t so much mindless hype from the various publishers in their press announcements. Just give me the facts. I’ll decide if it’s thumbs up or thumbs down.

I wish that Don Heck and Ross Andru were in the Comic Book Hall Of Fame.

I wish that all movies based on comic books were as good as Spider-Man, X-Men, and Hellboy.

I wish that there were more TV shows based on comic books.

I wish that people would quit bitchin’ about the price of comics. They are right in line with the prices of other pop culture items such as magazines, movies and DVDs.

I wish I could figure out how most of the Vertigo books ever get printed.

I wish Art Adams, Andy Kubert, Adam Kubert and John Romita Jr. could do weekly comics.

I wish they still made Grizzly Beer? so I could drink it when I read my comics.

I wish everybody had to use their real names when they posted stuff on line.

I wish editors would quit givin’ writing jobs to British writers just because they’re British.

I wish there were more comics about cowboys.

I wish I was writin’ The Sub-Mariner.

I wish comic book retailers got more credit for the job they do.

I wish there were more anthology comic books.

I wish Marvel would fix Nick Fury and get him back to the way he should be written.

I wish I had all these cool comic book action figures when I was a kid.

I wish John Romita Sr. all the best.

I wish Marvel and DC Comics would do a theme month where they had all of their Silver Age artists and writers that are still alive do a comic book.

I wish that Eva Mendes read all my comics and fell madly in lust with me.

I wish publishers would quit cryin’ about kids not readin’ comics and do something about it.

I wish we could finally get a manly writer to write Wolverine.

I wish just once I could have an autograph line like Jim Lee.

I wish Todd McFarlane would care about comics again like he used to.

I wish I had more time.

I wish I had Billy Tucci’s energy and Ted Adams’s brains.

I wish I had Daredevil #15 in near mint condition.

I wish the sales of comic books would go through the roof so we’d all be rich.

I wish Lou Bank and Matt Ragone were still workin’ in comics.

I wish that new readers would discover 80s comics like American Flagg, Scout, Grimjack, and Badger.

I wish Chuck Dixon was writin’ Airboy again.

I wish all of you would read The Black Terror that I wrote with Chuck Dixon back when we were at Eclipse Comics.

I wish everybody that just read this column had the same wishes as me.

I’m all wished out for this week, amigos. I hope all of your wishes come true.

Until then, I ain’t hard to find.
