Reboot Comic Book Club

Introducing the Reboot Comic Book Club podcast

Joseph Kyle Schmidt
October 19, 2015
Reboot Comic Book Club

Enough is enough and it’s time for a change.

That’s what I said to myself a few weeks ago. See, I’ve been podcasting over at different comics site for over a year. And while the relationship with the site and its decision makers was never tenuous, it’s been increasingly apparent that it’s not a place where my voice belongs.

So here we are.

Welcome to the Reboot Comic Book Club, a weekly podcast with a rotating slate of guests from across the industry. Each week a new creator, editor, critic, publisher, SOMEONE IN COMICS ET CETERA will come on the show to discuss a comic of their choosing. Could be a graphic novel, could be a single issue, could be old or new. We aren’t picky. I just want to have great discussions with awesome creators about work that inspire, humbles, and innovates this medium we love.

Not too difficult, right?

This episode is a bit of a primer for next week’s first true entry on Comics Bulletin, but if you find yourself curious the Archives are here. Some of my favorites include…

  • Ed Brisson reads Kraven’s Last Hunt
  • Katie Cook and Sara Richard read the new Archie
  • Ryan Ferrier reads Hey, Wait…
  • Tucker Stone reads Hawkworld
  • Zander Cannon reads Over the Wall
  • Monica Gallagher reads Strangers in Paradise vol. 2

Subscribe to future episodes with iTunes and Stitcher.

So check out some old shows before next week’s return to form. Chase Magnett will return to the show to discuss Transmetropolitan vol. 1 by Darrick Robertson and Warren Ellis. How ’bout that Gamer Gate, eh?

Yell at me @woeisjoe or on the comments, and let me know if there’s anyone you’d like to hear on the show or if there’s a particular comic you’d like to hear us discuss.
