Add this to the list of Really Great Ideas. How many times have you read about a Kickstarter and thought “if only that person had been able to take a class to help them learn how to do things right. Well, Boston Metaphysical Society creator Madeleine Holly-Rosing is here to help…
Pulp Fiction Books and Comics announced they would be adding a Kickstarter class to their line-up of programs offered at their Culver City location. “I had wanted to expand our course offerings for quite a while, but we were waiting for the right person to come along,” Mike Lerner commented, “And when I met Madeleine Holly-Rosing, I knew I’d found the right person.”
Ms. Holly-Rosing, writer/creator of the steampunk comic Boston Metaphysical Society, is a veteran of three Kickstarters, formerly a marketing manager and has recently consulted on a number of low budget Kickstarter projects. “After my experiences, I saw that many indie creators not only needed help organizing and focusing their time more efficiently, but they were not fully prepared to launch a campaign. So I decided to create a class for those people who cannot afford to hire a PR person or a team to help them,” Madeleine remarked. “Having a couple of successful campaigns under my belt, I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t. And this is the best way of passing that information along.”
The first class will be held on Saturday, January 31 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (may go a bit longer). The cost is $40 and participants will need to bring a wifi compatible laptop with the ability to download and read a pdf document. You can sign up by calling Mike at (310) 572-6170. Space is limited. Pulp Fiction also offers art classes and hosts Artist Alley events every month.
