We have super-heroes from Hawaii, or we will, if Christopher Caravalho has anything to say about it. With his Kickstarter the ‘Aumākua Guardians of Hawaii are back. These characters are The Royal Hawaiian Guard (Geckoman, Sistah Shark, Portuguese Man O War, Seoul Hot, Mighty Moke, and Super Size Sole), and they are joining forces once more in another exciting adventure. Caravalho indicated to us that he has already published a first issue and now has launched this Kickstarter to help fund the second issue. It is in this second issue ‘Aumākua Ghosts of the Past that the group’s past will be explained, and several other questions will be asked.
In 1893, the Hawaiian Kingdom was overthrown — but ‘Aumākua Guardians of Hawaii didn’t prevent that from happening. The story in issue two will reveal pieces of the answers behind that history as well as offer a glimpse of the Royal Hawaiian Guard’s tortured past. It will also introduce a team of legendary beloved superheroes called the Supreme Team. The Supreme Team was formed in the late 1800s. On the surface the Supreme Team appear to be the nation’s righteous protectors but as the two present day versions of the teams collide we will discover that looks can be deceiving.
Finally, what connection does the Supreme Team have with the ‘Aumākua, especially with the Royal Hawaiian Guard? You can find out by making a pledge to the ‘Aumākua Ghosts of the Past Kickstarter Project. Caravalho is attempting to use this Kickstarter to raise funds to make a Hawaii self-published comic book. The funds raised for this Kickstarter will go to paying the talented artists as well as for supplies, printing, and processing fees. This is the second issue of the series. If the amount received surpasses the Kickstarter goal it will be used to further this comic for future issues.
The script is complete. Once they generate the funds we can began the artwork and push forward to completing this project by early fall. He tells us that he is pouring his heart into this comic. It is his passion, and with your support his dream will be a reality. To date, he has pushed through many obstacles on the first issue any challenges that may arise he tells us that he will address them and make this project a success.
This project will be funded on Monday, March 30, 2015.
