Kickstarter Spotlight: Rescue IndieSpotlight Action Figure Tooling and more

Kickstarter Spotlight, News

Comic Book Heroes are looking for your help to assist in helping them rescue the Indie Spotlight action figure and shockini tooling from the old factory. Apparently after fronting money to have tools made for the creation of their line of action figures, it turns out that the manufacturer took the money and didn’t produce the toys, then Comic Book Heroes purchased the toys back they discovered that the money they paid out didn’t cover the tools and now they need your help to rescue the steel tooling for Indie Spotlight Series 1, 2, & 3; plus the ever popular mini figure shockinis.

After buying the toy lines Indie Spotlight, Mallows and Shockins from the defunct toy company Shocker Toys they learned the factory was too busy with bigger non-toy projects to produce any further products and that the tooling for the popular Indie Spotlight toy line was still in a custody battle due to a crooked Hong Kong agent. The new factory they are now working with will go and pick up the Indie Spotlight tooling from the old factory but they must pay a release fee of $7,000 to the old factory to remove the tools. The tools were inspected by the new factory and are in working order. The new factory has also found the original shockini tools and will test them and make sure they can be used again.

Some of the figures these tools have produced include these:

If you do not know what steel tools are — they are what the factories use to inject the plastics and abs into which then produces the parts for the action figures before assembly. They are heavy and very expensive and these combined tools are worth over $180,000 which they would prefer not lose. They are asking for everyone’s help in the action figure and collector community to help with any donation possible. They do realize we have some pending orders for figures involved in this tooling and they assure everyone who has an order in that they will be filling them once these tools are rescued and brought to the new factory in China.

The folks at GBJR Toys did get one last order from the factory producing the Dick Tracy, The Blank, The Tick, and Mr. Gone action figures that they promised and those were all shipped to customers last year. The simple Breakdown is this:

  • $7,000 for breakdown, storage and removal of tools to new factory
  • $750.00 to test the already rescued shockini tools and get them ready for production on a new series.
  • Once they have rescued their tools and moved them to the new factory they will begin on the lost lines and figures that were listed for sale.

They want to thank everyone for their continued support and hope with your help they can reach their goal and get the Indie Spotlight 6″toyline moving again. You can find This Campaign On:

Facebook Twitter Website

This project will be funded on February 28, 2015.
