Please help legendary artist Don Perlin

Bryan Stroud
December 24, 2015
News

He’s at it again. Cliff Meth, one of those talented guys with a heart of gold and a pretty impressive rolodex is once again lending his talents to help a professional in need as Don Perlin, who has been undergoing some significant health issues, is on the mend. Cliff has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help offset medical expenses and the response in less than 24 hours has been pretty phenomenal.

Those who have enjoyed Don’s work over the years should consider a generous gift as a way to give back to this wonderful creator. At a bare minimum it’s a splendid opportunity to add meaning to the season and if you read my Classic Interview with Don here at the dear ol’ Comics Bulletin, you’ll get an idea of what a great, humble guy Don is in the bargain.

So, please, check out the campaign, read the interview if you like and give to one of the good guys. Tell ‘em Bryan sent you and best of luck to Don and the many family members, friends and fans who love the man behind the work.

Werewolf by Night by Don PerlinEditor’s Note:

Two things initially crossed my mind when I heard the news about Don Perlin: 1) He’s long been one of my favorite artists and 2) Bryan Stroud posted a wonderful interview with him not too long ago. We were also fortunate enough to post a piece on Mr. Perlin 10 years ago, written by the above mentioned Cliff Meth. Or, heck, just check out the full list of articles we’ve done about the man and his work; he deserves all this press and more.

I first discovered his work on New Defenders, a classic Defenders title that had been injected with wayward X-Men in hopes of making it more profitable. I’d attempt a short hand description of Perlin’s work, but I’ll let the attached images speak to that and, honestly, even these don’t do him justice.

I’m beyond thrilled that the GoFundMe is already where it is. I’m hoping it’s an indication to Don that he still has an awful lot of fans out there.
