Chase and Joe are back for a new round of reviews, interviews, bickering, and general nonsense. It has been a little while, but the boys have day jobs and children (and/or dogs) to care for. They’ve been hard at work lining up interviews though, and you can check out the first one with Ro Stein and Ted Brandt!

Ted and Ro are known for their long-running work on Raven: The Pirate Princess and have been furiously producing new pages for Marvel and Image Comics over the past year. That includes work on Champions, Captain America, and the newest installment of Bitch Planet this week. We chat about the influx of new work, future plans, and their pick for the book club: It’s Never As Bad As You Think.
It’s Never As Bad As You Think is an experimental work from the husband-wife, artist-writer team of Stuart and Kathryn Immonen. It jumps between subjects and tones in rapid succession delivering an experience that is consistently enjoyable, but never predictable. It makes for a great conversation on what two artists in sync can accomplish in quick order.

For the Weekly Reviews portion, Chase and Joe managed to talk about two books they absolutely love: East of West #33 and Slasher #1. Jonathan Hickman, Nick Dragotta, and Laura Martin’s post-apocalyptic epic continues into Year Three in East of West, while cartoonist Charles Forsman kicks off another look at the dark aspects of the human condition.

East of West #33

Slasher #1

And for the Canon, well, brace yourselves, because we discussed an awful Ben Garrison comic. One really bad comic, in particular. Check it out below:

Yeah, it’s pretty bad.
