Old friend Vito Delsante returns to the show to talk his latest project on the eve of its release! Check out Actionverse: F1rst Hero #1 in stores this week!
Vito is spearheading Action Lab’s first crossover among their creator-owned superheroes, featuring Jamal Igle‘s Molly Danger and Ray-Anthony Height‘s Midnight Tiger. While each title functions as a one-shot produced by each series creator, they continue the story of Actionverse for six weekly issues. Not only did Vito write the final issue and co-write issue 4 with Height, but he also edited the series.
In the spirit of multiverse-threatening crossovers, Vito has chosen to read the DC Comics blueprint, Crisis on Infinite Earths. From creators Marv Wolfman and George Perez, you’ve probably formed your opinions about this classic already. So listen to what we have to say now! You know you want it.
Vito on Crisis on Infinite Earths:
“You could tell how much Marv Wolfman and George Perez … loved these characters and how much reverence [they] gave to them. There are just so many great moments that make up—you know, I tell everybody that asks me for writing advice that a moment doesn’t make a comic. You have to make that moment count. So when Supergirl dies, when Tula—Aqualad’s girlfriend—dies, when the Flash dies, all those things matter because of the 50-something years of continuity that had come before it. All that stuff matters because you have had all that history with those characters.”
