The good people at Entertainment Earth were kind enough to send me a copy of their latest Batman exclusive, the Tony Millionaire Batman Black and White statue, for review. I’ve never been a great fan of statues, but this is the kind of gorgeously sculpted and slightly alternative-looking statue that just might make me a buyer.
The first thing I noticed with this sculpture was how well all the disparate pieces made sense. From the dramatically pointed ears to the scowling fact to the embossed bat-symbol to the shiny boots to the delightfully wavy cape to the spikes on hands and boots to the wonderful base, all the components of this statue just fit together wonderfully.
The detail on his face is marvelous, teeth jutting out in a seemingly desperate hatred for criminals, forehead furrowed with anger.
In a touch I’ve never seen before, the bat-logo is actually embedded a bit into the statue, presenting a dramatic element to the Dark Knight’s appearance.
The detail on his cape is wonderful, a variegated and intriguing collection of folds and angles that looks spectacular.
On the whole, I just can’t recommend this figure enough. Watch out, EE, I’m going to need more statues — and soon!
This statue is available on Entertainment Earth. Merchandise was provided in exchange for this review.
