Don’t look for this at your local retailer or in Previews, you won’t find it. After his successful visit to the Cerebus yahoogroup, Sim announced issue #301 was ready to ship, but only to members of that group … my copy arrived yesterday, and it’s taken me until this late to digest the contents, featuring a graphical analysis of his views of feminism, coupled with Cerebus’ experiences in the afterlife (he isn’t in heaven, he isn’t in hell, he’s on “The West Wing” – Martin Sheen makes a superb cameo appearance in this issue), coupled with a fifteen-page discourse on the current price of milk and cheese in Canadian supermarkets (apparently 90% of comics creators can’t answer the simple question “how much is a pint of milk?” to within 25% of the real price).
I could continue to wax lyrical about the contents of this issue from here to doomsday (which, according to Sim, is on 30th December 2006), but apparently the print run is very limited, so get over to groups.yahoo.com/cerebus and sign up now - you just have to post a message saying "Give Me My Copy Of #301 Now" and you'll be emailed with details.
The comic of the year.
