Writer: Andy Hartnell
Pencils: Nick Bradshaw
Colors: Jim Charalampidis

We see how the Old Man left 1300 A.D. to find Ash in the present day. Together, they fly to the birthplace of the Necronomicon hoping to find the means to destroy it. Tragedy strikes and another enemy returns.

When the Old Man leaves his time, his castle and its people are possessed by the evil spirits of the Necronomicon. This happens after Ash saves them from the Deadites. So either Hartnell got his continuity mixed up, or there’s been a castle full of evil zombies for the last 700 years.

Of course the story is just an excuse to put Ash into battle with weird monsters. He fights his severed hand and his beard in a replay of “Evil Dead 2”. Bradshaw’s art is the star of this book. Just looking at this comic makes me laugh. Combined with Ash’s one-liners, the Old Man’s fake medieval dialect, and a “Twilight Zone” reference, and you’ve got another funny book.
