Murdock knows hot chicks. That seems to be the point of this issue.
While on “assignment,” Elektra, Matt’s first girlfriend, and hot bad girl chick, sees the headlines about Wilson Fisk offering proof that Murdock is Daredevil. Natasha Romanov, another ex-girlfriend, and hot international spy chick, asks her boss at SHIELD, hot bureaucratic chick to squash the story. She refuses. So Natasha tries to warn Foggy Nelson, dumpy guy with man tits, that he and Matt need to leave the country before they go to jail. He refuses. Agent Del Toro, professional with secret hot side chick, is surprised to learn the FBI will actually accept Fisk’s deal and destroy Murdock’s life. She quits and gets fired. And Matt? Matt’s spent the night with Milla Donovan, hot blind chick, who wants to be his wife again. He hasn’t heard anything yet.
This is what you get when you read comics because girls won’t talk to you.
Besides, it’s hard to ignore the fact Matt Murdock is the playa of the Marvel Universe. Guys has had more beautiful women than Peter Parker, Steve Rogers, or even Luke Cage. Okay, Cage may have “had” more women, but Matt’s had more relationships. And they were all babes. Then again, when was the last time you saw an average-looking woman in a comic book?
But seriously, this is a great issue. The FBI boss gives a good reason why they can’t arrest Fisk on anything, and why he hates Daredevil so much. He’s still a jerk, but a jerk with cause. Natasha learns how her former relationship with Matt hurts her credibility with her new boss. Milla says all the things Matt wants to hear about them getting back together. But it’s nothing out of line, and that sub-plot needs to be wrapped up. And Foggy once again demonstrates his loyalty to and dependence on Matt. Great sidekick.
