Holy Moley! Sivana and Luthor teaming up! Captain Marvel and Superman teaming up! Winnick and Middleton teaming up! Holy Moley!
Yes, here we are once again in a miniseries that makes us wonder what Winnick was thinking with the last Superman/Shazam team-up in the regular Superman titles. Night and day I tell you!!
I canít decide which I like more: the back and forth barbs between Sivana and Luthor, or the mutual praise between Superman and Captain Marvel. Thatís what takes up most of the pages in this issue, with a few left at the end to whet our appetites for impending danger from two (at the time) up and coming villains in the next issue.
Middletonís art continues to impress me. I have to look it over again and again like Iím walking through an art museum, because itís just so different from the standard comic fare. I really hope this springboards him into more big projects (hopefully for DC since thatís where most of MY money goes!)
Overall, itís another really good issue in what is shaping up to be a great miniseries. I am really looking forward to the next issue, where our two heroes will hopefully get to go toe-to-toe with the immediate villains, and perhaps even get some idea as to who the REAL villains are!
