The writers noted above get to do what any fanboy would get a huge kick out of doing. They take an old comic and add in their own unique brand of humorous text and dialogue. In this case the stories the reader ends up with are Drew Fist, Earth’s Fussiest Defender in “I Stood Alone Against the Trash Masters From Beyond!!," "Voyage to Nowhere," "White…Is Right?," "Fan Boy," and George Swami, Cocktail Party Hypnotist in “The Bowties that Bind!”
“Just… just pretend the miniskirt isn’t there.”
This is a really hilarious outing for a group of writers who obviously don’t take themselves too seriously. In the vein of Mystery Science Theater 3000, puns and witticisms are flying at the expense of the art, which often is just asking for it. While the writers must be lauded for informing readers of the definitions of certain words, it is worth mentioning that this isn’t for children, with profanities and adult topics flying around like the…. items… flying around in the first story.
“No, we didn’t see the giant robot head coming either.”
Overall I would recommend this title to anyone wanting a good chuckle.
