Writer/Artist: Sergio Aragones (with Mark Evanier)

Publisher: DC Comics
Price: $4.99 USD

Itís 48 pages of Sergio comics.

You donít need more that that. Really, thatís enough. Hand over your money. Read. Laugh. Love. Dedicate your life to finding a cure for death to keep Sergio alive forever.

Right, here are the details: Sergio Aragones writes and draws several stories, some taken from his own life. His recollection of Mexican heroes provides an alternate view of American history. He also tells how he might have given Marty Feldman his fatal heart attack (stories that could have appeared in Mad and House of Secrets) and makes Batman question his public image. The funny stories are funny, the serious stories are thought provoking, and the sketches are fun. Aragones has a wonderful personality that comes through this work. Heís a master storyteller. Donít let the cartooning fool you. His storytelling possesses a rhythm that only comes from years of experience developing a great natural talent.

Itís a shame Solo is coming to an end. Itís the perfect series to showcase great talents like Sergio. These stories couldnít be published anywhere else. Those of you whoíve only known Aragonesí humor work will enjoy his extended comedy sequences, and his tragic tale of a father losing his son. Yes, $5 is a lot for one comic book, but this is a comic youíll be reading for years to come. Reserve a permanent place in your box for this!
