Writers: Geoff Johns, Grant Morrison, Greg Rucka, Mark Waid
Artists: Keith Giffen (breakdowns); Chris Batista (p)

Publisher: DC Comics

The Plot Tease: Apocalypse Now. Annihilus, I mean, Lady Styx, sweeps across the galaxy, leaving utter destruction in her path. Ralph clears the air with Cassie before muddying it up again with Supernova. Infinity Inc. starts to come apart at the seams. Lobo and friends watch Styxís carnage, preparing for the big battle.

The Heroes: The art team: Captain Comet looked so cool on that first page. I really like that costume, and the pencil and ink team did a great job with it. Is it just me, or does one of the shadowy bad guys at the top of the second page look like Boba Fett? The kiddy drawing of Superman below his statue was quite touching.

Dr. Fateís Helmet: That entrance was hilarious. Was the helmet starting to smoke? Ralph and the helmet made quite the nice rexit.

Supernova: Well, THAT mystery just got cranked up a notch, didnít it? It would seem like Supernova is someone who Ralph knows, yet heís someone whoís not that familiar with Wonder Girl. Oh, and apparently the sum of his powers might be some device, with two keys? Itís hard to tell whatís literal and whatís metaphorical in that conversation.

J. G. Jones: Great cover, very Terminator-esque. Itís interesting that we get to see both space faring teams in some form: the Green Lanterns and the Darkstars.

The Villains: The Guardians: I realize theyíre scared, but come onÖ.arenít the Guardians always prepared? They need some kind of plan that doesnít involve abandoning the people theyíre supposed to be protecting. Plus, you never leave a man behind. Thatís just wrong.

Everyman: Yeah, gross power, definitely, but quite useful. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Now, on top of Nat losing her powers at a bad moment, she has to deal with a possible stalker that she might invite right into her room.

Cassie: Good Lord, she just comes off as so pathetic in this series. Donna Prince? Did I miss something? Whereís that name from? I just hope Cassie can go to Marseilles and figure out whatís going on and get on with her life.

Lady Styx: Itís like reading a mix between Annihilation and the Borg. Itís not nice, whatever it is. Iím not sure how our heroes are going to stop this massive destructive force when the Guardians themselves donít even want to get involved. Sheís wearing one of the Green Lanterns as a freaking earring! By the way, I wasnít aware that Captain Comet could jettison his consciousness. Pretty cool.

The Resolution: Will Lady Styx continue her destructive path all the way to the Earth?

Will Lobo and company kick major Styx behind?

Will they do it while listening to "Mr. Roboto"?

Will Everyman do something horrible to Natasha before John Henry can save her?

Will Ralph find what he is searching for? Will Cassie?

Who is Supernova?

We can only hope that these and other questions will be addressed in the upcoming installments of 52!
