This Week in Boom for 8/26/15: Undead!

Kyle Garret
August 26, 2015
This Week in BOOM!

I’m back!  The multi-talented Julia Walchuk usually covers the week’s releases from Boom! but she’s been waylaid by a bug, so I’ve stepped back into these shoes to tell you about all the goodies hitting the shelves today.

Adventure Time #43 (Cover A Vivian Ng), $3.99
Adventure Time #43 (Cover B Vivian Ng), $3.99

Finn and Jake break into Party God’s yacht to try and clear their names!  You have to think that Party God’s yacht is pretty freaking sweet.

Big Trouble In Little China #15 (Cover A Jay Shaw), $3.99
Big Trouble In Little China #15 (Cover B Jenny Frison), AR

Jack Burton and Whitney Chi are on the run from the Alpha Group, Japanese river goblins, and an AI helicopter with the voice of Ronald Reagan!  Okay, well, now I feel like I should be reading this.

ButterflyButterfly HC, $24.99

Female fronted espionage!  It’s all the rage these days.  It’s nice to see, really.

Clive Barker’s Next Testament Volume 3 TP, $14.99

The final collection!

CrimsonCrimson Volume 1 HC, $34.99

Humberto Ramos draws big feet and big hands and big heads, but his style seems at least a bit subdued here in Crimson, a vampire story he created with Brian Augustyn.  This was some classic Wildstorm stuff from back in the day.

Hacktivist Volume 2 #2 (Of 6)(Cover A Marcus To), $3.99

I do not see Alyssa Milano’s name on this second series of the Hacktivist.  I read the first one (it was part of a Humble Bundle) and remember liking it, but not much else.

LumberjanesLumberjanes #17 (Cover A Carolyn Nowak), $3.99
Lumberjanes #17 (Cover B Jen Wang), AR

I just noticed that Lumberjanes #8 is listed as #8 (of 8), which means that this series was originally supposed to be finite.  How often does that happen with indie books, I wonder, where a limited series continues on because of demand?  Seems like a rarity to me, but it’s understandable given how enjoyable this series is.

Garden WallOver The Garden Wall #1 (Cover A Jim Campbell), $3.99
Over The Garden Wall #1 (Cover B Steve Wolfhard), $3.99
Over The Garden Wall #1 (Cover C Jeffrey Brown), AR
Over The Garden Wall #1 (Cover D Patrick McHale), AR

A new comic featuring the first ever Cartoon Network original mini-series, set during the animated series!

Sons Of Anarchy #24 (Cover B Toni Infante), $3.99

The penultimate issue!

Suicide Risk Volume 5 TP, $14.99

The latest volume of the long running series, from Mike Carey and Elena Casagrande.
