Some quality releases this week from Boom, including a really interesting new series…
Adventure Time Eye Candy Mathematical Edition Volume 2 HC, $24.99
These Adventure Time hardcovers look really great, so much so that it makes me wish I read these books. They also appear to be a great deal. In this volume you get: Adventure Time #16-30, Adventure Time Annual #1, Adventure Time 2013 Summer Special #1, Adventure Time 2013 Spoooktacular #1, Adventure Time 2014 Winter Special #1, and Adventure Time 2014 Annual #1. That’s a lot of bang for your buck.
Broken World #4 (Of 4)(Cover A Christopher Peterson), $3.99
The pulse pounding conclusion!
Cluster #7 (Cover A Damian Couceiro), $3.99
This is an excellent sci-fi series with some beautiful art, so you should check it out, although that cover’s a bit on the nose, yeah?
Hit 1955 HC (Limited Edition), $24.99
The first Hit series was really great, although I’ve yet to read past the first issue of this one. This is perhaps the ideal way to do so, in a nice hardcover with bonus material.
John Flood #2 (Of 6)(Cover A Jorge Coelho), $3.99
I have no idea what this means, but I like Jorge Coelho’s art: Flood takes Berry out on an unusual first case for a crash course in his oddball techniques.
Regular Show #27 (Cover A Julian Robinson & Dan Ciurczak), $3.99
Regular Show #27 (Cover B Marc Ellerby), $3.99
That Cover A is crazy awesome. Buy that one.
Suicide Risk Volume 5 TP, $14.99
I think we had this coming out last week, so see my comments then.
Toil And Trouble #1 (Of 6)(Cover A Kyla Vanderklugt), $3.99
Toil And Trouble #1 (Of 6)(Cover B Meredith McClaren), AR
Toil And Trouble #1 (Of 6)(Cover C Haemi Jang), AR
Tell me this doesn’t sound excellent: Throw out your textbooks, this is not the Macbeth you remember. Mairghread Scott (Transformers: Windblade) and Kyla Vanderklugt (Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Witches) have reinvented Shakespeare’s famous tragedy, but this time the power is in the hands of the three witches. These ladies aren’t all ‘double, double, toil and trouble.’ They’re the power controlling kings and the fate of Scotland. What It Is: The three fates-Riata, Cait, and Smertae-have always been guiding and protecting Scotland unseen, indirectly controlling the line of kings according to the old religion. When there is a disagreement in the sisterhood, Riata and Smertae will use men as pawns, and Smertae will direct Macbeth to a crown he was never meant to have.
Plus, the art by Kyla Vanderklugt looks wonderful.
Woods #16 (Cover A Michael Dialynas), $3.99
Casey has a plan, and Calder is running out of time to stop him. Darn that Casey!
