This Week in Boom! for 10/22/14 and 10/29/14

News, This Week in BOOM!

A few quick hits this week as I’m bogged down by that pesky real world stuff.  I can hear you say, “but, Kyle, you’re doing two weeks in one even though you’re supposedly so busy!”  Well, yes, gentle reader, I am, because they’re very small weeks for ye old Boom Studios.  Plus, I’m thinking about doing these a week in advance so you people know which books to ask for when the store opens on Wednesday morning…

For 10/22:

3 Guns TP, $19.99

This is the sequel to the comic that got made into a movie.  I haven’t read either comic or seen the movie, but there were lots of explosions in the trailer.

Butterfly #2

Butterfly #2

Bee And Puppycat #5 (Cover A Emily Hu), $3.99
Bee And Puppycat #5 (Cover B Zac Gorman), $3.99
Bee And Puppycat #5 (Cover C Emily Partridge), AR

You kids and you’re weird comics.

Butterfly #2 (Of 4)(Cover A Phil Noto), $3.99

I really enjoyed the first issue of this.  Excellent narration and really nice art.  I recommend checking it out.

Clive Barker’s Hellraiser The Dark Watch Volume 3 TP, $19.99
Clive Barker’s Nightbreed #6 (Cover A Riley Rossmo), $3.99
Clive Barker’s Nightbreed #6 (Cover B Christopher Mitten), AR

More scary stuff from Clive Barker and friends.

Memetic #1 (Of 3)(Cover A Eryk Donovan), $4.99
Memetic #1 (Of 3)(Cover B Meme Variant), AR

This series has to be good if only because it’s about book about a meme and the book itself was a meme.  Even Grant Morrison thinks this is meta (Abed is withholding judgment).

Regular Show #16 (Cover A Andy Hirsch), $3.99
Regular Show #16 (Cover B Kyle Fewell), $3.99
Regular Show #16 (Cover C Laura Meuller), AR
Regular Show #16 (Cover D Dustin Nguyen), AR

Comics for kids and the parents who love them!

Hit Pen and Ink

Hit Pen and Ink

Steed And Mrs. Peel We’re Needed #4 (Of 6)(Cover A Miss Led), $3.99

You know, it’s because of these two that it’s called “Marvel’s The Avengers.”

For 10/29:

Adventure Time #33 (Cover A Hwei Lim), $3.99
Adventure Time #33 (Cover B Christina Larsen), $3.99
Adventure Time #33 (Cover C Genevieve FT), AR

More comics for kids and the parents who love them!

Hit Pen And Ink #1 (Cover A Vanesa R. Del Rey), $14.99

I really enjoyed this series and highly recommend you check it out.  Vanesa R. Del Rey’s art is quite nice and is definitely deserving of a Pen and Ink edition.

Two small weeks from Boom, but there are still a some gems you should check out.
