The 10 Best-Selling Comic Books of September 2025

September 2025 was a pretty big month for comics, especially on the DC side of things. But the best-selling comic of the month was a collaboration between the two industry titans.

September will be remembered as a historic month for comics, for two things in particular. Most notably, Marvel and DC joined forces for a number of crossover events, headlined by Deadpool/Batman #1 is by Zeb Wells and Greg Capullo. DC also launched a Batman #1  from Matt Fraction and artist Jorge Jiménez– a comic that marked only the fourth renumbering in the Batman’s illustrious 85-year history.

Beyond those, there were some pretty stellar entries from across the board. It’s nice to see a shared win at the top for Marvel and DC. The new Batman renumbering has also gotten off to a solid start with the first two issues making the top 4. Two Spider-Man issues also make the top 10; no surprises there. Check out the full top 10 for yourself, as first revealed by ICv2. The 10 are ranked based on sales rankings from comic store POS data:

  1. Deadpool / Batman #1 (Buy here)

  8. Punisher Red Band #1 (Buy here)
  9. Absolute Wonder Woman #12 (Buy here)

As for graphic novels, Batman: Arkham Asylum topped the charts, followed by Absolute Batman Volume 1. In other words, DC is abosolutely smashing it. Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man Volume 3 came in sixth.

The next big month will no doubt be November 2025, which sees the release of Batman #3 and, of course, the second major crossover in the form of Batman/Deadpool #1 by Grant Morrison and Dan Mora.
