Tucker Stone reads PUNISHER/CAPTAIN AMERICA: BLOOD & GLORY

Miscellaneous Comic Book Content, Reboot Comic Book Club
Chase and Joe are back for a new round of reviews, interviews, bickering, and general nonsense. This week’s guest on RCBC is another recurring guest and longtime friend of the show: Tucker Stone. Tucker is back to check in on his work at Nobrow Comics, but mostly just wanted to discuss some more mean as hell Punisher comics.

Tucker brought us a lost “gem” in the form of Punisher and Captain America: Blood and Glory. It’s a three issue prestige format comic from 1992 in which the titular pairing beat each other up before targeting a corrupt Attorney General and his dealings with a banana republic. It’s dumb and cruel, but drawn in irresistible fashion by Klaus Janson. This is one comic we all enjoyed and worth rescuing from a dollar bin if you spot it.

We also cover two new comics in our review segment.

Riverdale #1
Check the full info below because a lot of people made this damn comic.

All Time Comics Crime Destroyer #1
Written by Josh Bayer
Drawn by Herb Trimpe
Inked by Benjamin Marra
Colored by Alessandro Echewarria
Lettered by Rick Parker

Finally, in The Comics Canon, we take on whether a certain comic deserves to be considered a classic of the medium. This isn’t for obvious cases like Watchmen or Maus. It’s defined for well-loved or forgotten comics that might need to be reassessed. This week we tackle New X-Men, Grant Morrison’s redefining take on a classic superhero franchise accompanied by the ever-incredible Frank Quitely and an array of other artists.

BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP ON THIS ONE. Please vote in our poll below and let us know if YOU think that New X-Men deserves to be in the Comics Canon, because as you’ll hear we just couldn’t agree.

WE NEED YOUR HELP: Does the Morrison/Quitely/Van Sciver/Jimenez/et al. New X-Men run belong in the Comics Canon?

Joe and Chase didn’t agree

We hope you enjoy the continuation of our newest reboot on the Reboot Comic Book Club, long may it last.
