Trailer For ‘Rebel Moon: Nemesis’ — A Comic Book Prequel to Netflix’s Rebel Moon!

From the world of Zack Snyder’s epic Rebel Moon movie on Netflix, comes Rebel Moon: Nemesis — an all-new prequel comic from award-winning writer Gail Simone!

Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon franchise kicked off in 2023. Released on Netflix, the space sci-fi films received mixed reviews from critics. For instance, the first movie currently holds a poor 22% on Rotten Tomatoes, with its sequel boasting just a measly 16%.  Ratings aside, there’s still a legion of fans out there, and for those craving more, Titan Comics is happy to oblige. Rebel Moon: Nemesis comes from award-winning creator Gail Simone (Red Sonja, Wonder Woman) and artist Federico Bertoni. Needless to say, we’re super excited!

The comic series serves as a prequel to Rebel Moon, offering up an origin story for Nemesis (played by Bae Doona in the movies). The official synopsis reads: Taking place before she became the sword-wielding cyborg assassin, this is an action-packed and badass story in the style of a revenge western, in which an innocent woman finds herself in the path of Imperium soldiers who slaughter her family.

Check out the epic new trailer:

“I feel like this story was a little bit destined to happen, somehow. My family and I were watching REBEL MOON and really enjoying it, and I just immediately focused on Nemesis,” said writer Gail Simone. “I loved the badassery of her, but also the way she addressed grief, and recognized it in others. I just was completely smitten with her, and I actually said to my family, “Man, I would love to write her someday.” Well, someone was listening because I get this message that Zack would like to talk to me about writing that exact character. Who am I to argue with fate? She’s a powerful, powerful character, she leaps off the page (and screen) and I cannot even explain how much I enjoyed playing in this sandbox.”

Rebel Moon: Nemesis #1 goes on sale July 16, 2025 from Titan Comics. Will you be picking it up? Tell us in the comments down below!
