Marvel fans rejoice! Marvel Studios has just announced the cast of its next ensemble movie, Avengers: Doomsday, confirming the return (and arrival) of beloved heroes, including Thor!
Avengers: Doomsday is now filming, folks! Six years after the release of Endgame — the culmination of over a decade of movies — directors Joe and Anthony Russo are back at the helm for Doomsday. The upcoming movie will be the first ensure picture headlined by an all-new team of Avengers. Whether it’s newly introduced heroes, like the Fantastic Four, or members of the original team like Thor — the new generation of Avengers is a very exciting prospect indeed.
Of course, following Endgame, both Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Chris Evans’ Captain America departed the franchise. However, that won’t stop Downey Jr. from coming back. In one of the most exciting Marvel announcements of recent years, he will return to the franchise as iconic villain Doctor Doom.
While Marvel Studios can’t show any scenes (which checks out, since production has just started), it does show the chairs of cast members, officially confirming key heroes in the movie.
