Image Comics has today announced that the second issue of their hit new series Bug Wars has been rushed back to print!

Bug Wars comes from Jason Aaron (Southern Bastards, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Absolute Superman) and Mahmud Asrar (Conan the Barbarian, X-Men, Batman & Robin). The series follows Slade Slaymaker, a kid from Alabama who gets swept away into a dangerous insect-filled world… in his own backyard. In the tiny kingdom, there lurk ant armies, sorcerer spider witches, and all sorts of ever creepy crawlies. Behold the Bug Wars!

The comic’s debut issue was an enormous hit at Image, garnering extremely positive reviews from critics and casual readers alike. The comic has gained so much attention that issue #2 has sold out completely at the distributor level, leading the publisher to fast-track new copies to print.

“Thank you for embracing these bugs! We’ve been blown away by how many of you have chosen to join us in the wilds of the Yard, among the Spyder Wytches, Beetle Riders and of course the ravenous mosquitoes of the Bludhole,” said Aaron on news of the sell-out. “I’m really proud of the reading experience we’re putting together each and every issue, including loads of world-building backmatter, as we continue to explore the fantastical hidden kingdom of the Mytes.”

Asrar added: “It’s so rewarding to see the colossal love you’ve shown to the minute heroes and monsters of the world we’ve created. You have our everlasting gratitude. We have so much more that we’ll explore and discover in Bug Wars. Can’t wait to share it with you.”

Bug Wars #1 is out now in comic stores. The issue #2 reprint arrives alongside issue #3 on April 23. You can pre-order the comic on Amazon here. Are you reading Bug Wars? If you are, tell us if you’re enjoying it in the comments down below!
