At San Diego Comic Con 2019, it was announced that Natalie Portman who play Jane Foster will be in the new Thor movie titled Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). She will be not be “female Thor” nor “lady Thor” but “mighty Thor”.
Her first appearance portraying Thor was in Thor 1 (2014). In that storyline Nick Fury whispered something to Thor which caused him to lose his ability to wield Mjolnir. An unidentified woman picked up the hammer and became the new Goddess of Thunder. Thor now called himself odinson determined to find out who this new Goddess is? Thor ruled out Jane Foster because of her weakened condition from cancer. Odinson didn’t knew that the Mjolnir perpetuated her cancer and allowed her to fight.
Now will Thor:Love and Thunder adapt this storyline? Stay tuned. Christian Bale has been cast as the villain in the movie. Guardians of the Galaxy will be making an appearance.
In Overstreet Price Guide, they have the book, Thor 1 (2014) listed at $10 at NM 9.2. On ebay, the prices were around $450 to $455 for Thor 1 (2014) CGC 9.8 after the announcement in San Diego in July 2019. Prices of this book has fallen back to earth, you can get this for $180 to $200 in August 2019. Before the announcement, you could have bought this book for $80. Now this book is selling for $120 because there was a sale for $120 on June 16, $120 on June 20 and $119.99 on June 21, 2020.
