On February 18 2019, Netflix announced the cancellation of Punisher and Jessica Jones TV shows. These joined Daredevil (3 seasons), Iron Fist (2 seasons) and Luke Cage ( 2 seasons) as cancelled shows. This blog will talk about the Punisher. The Punisher aired his second season in January 2019.  This show starred Jon Bernthal, reprising his role from Daredevil. Jon is known for his role in the Walking Dead tv show.

Punisher first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man 129  (February 1974) published by Marvel Comics created by Gerry Conway, John Romita Sr. and Ross Andru.

Punisher is Frank Castle who is a military vet. His family is murdered for witnessing a killing in Central Park, New York. With his military background, he sought revenge. His family’s murderers were the first to be killed by him. Punisher doesn’t have any superpowers.

Punisher has appeared in 3 feature films, one in 1989 starring Dolph Lungdren and one in 2004 starring Thomas Jane and another one in 2008 starring Ray Stevenson. All these movies didn’t do well at the box office. As a Punisher fan, I loved them except for the 2008 movie because I didn’t see that one yet.

I remember back in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, I would buy every comic book which had a guest appearance of the Punisher. Punisher was hot. He has a lot of monthly comic book titles like Punisher, Punisher: War Zone, Punisher: War Journal and Punisher: Armory.  Unfortunately those comic books aren’t worth anything due to large production.

On ebay, you are looking at around $20,000 for Amazing Spider-Man 129 CGC 9.8 in early 2019. The prices of this book has dropped due to the cancelled show, now you are looking to pay around $13,800 to $17,775 for this book.  Good luck!
