Happy National Cat Day is Thursday, October 29, to honor that I will be blogging about a cat. There are lots of cats in the comic books. The one cat that popped in my head is Streaky the Supercat, Supergirl’s pet cat.
Streaky the Supercat first appeared Action Comics #261 (February 1960) published by DC Comics created by Jerry Seigel and Jim Mooney.
Supergirl was experimented on Kryptonite. However, the experiment failed and she tossed out the window. The pet Streaky was exposed to radiation and got those powers like Superman and Supergirl but depowered compared to them.
WB is developing a movie called Super Pets similar to cartoon show in Cartoon Network. That team of animals include Krypto the Superdog, Streaky the Cat and Aquaman’s pet octopus. Super Pets will be written by Jared Stern and John Whittington, who created by The LEGO Batman Movie and The LEGO Ninjago Movie.
Streaky showed up on CW live-action Supergirl. This cat was black and has no superpowers.
