Veteran sword-and-sorcery author Michael Moorcock awaits the release of his fantasy comic, The Michael Moorcock Library: Elric the Eternal Champion Collection, early next year. And, as a long-time fan of Moorcock’s work, I’m particularly excited for this book to release. A whole 48 years after the release of his novel Elric of Melniboné, Moorcock teams up with artists Philippe Druillet (Salammbo, The Night, Lone Sloane) and James Cawthorn (Hawkmoon, The Chronicles of Corum, Conan the Barbarian) to revisit and reimagine the hero.
Elric is an iconic genre character who doesn’t get near enough love, especially since his influence can be felt throughout all elements of pop culture, from books to music. This upcoming book is said to bring us two rarely-seen adventures with the character. Exciting!
