While there’s no official confirmation, reports suggest that fan-favourite X-Men star Halle Berry is reprising her role as Storm for Avengers: Doomsday!
If you read all the memes across social media, you’d think every character throughout pop culture is returning to feature in Avengers: Doomsday. We’re talking Shrek, Rick Grimes, and so on and so forth. The Marvel Studios announcement lasted for way over 5 hours, and seemingly only introduced us to a large handful of a much larger ensemble cast.
We’re seeing all of the Fantastic Four, as well as Shang-Chi, and original X-Men stars Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart. But there were also a few notable absentees, such as Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. It can be hard to keep track of who’s officially involved and who’s not, but don’t worry, we’ve got a comprehensive cast list for you to feast your eyes on here.
While nobody was exactly expecting Halle Berry’s character Storm, rumours that she could be involved have certainly taken the internet by… well… storm. Ororo Munroe, aka Storm, was a huge part of the original X-Men movies, starring in four pictures from across the franchise between 2000-2014. But we all know what Marvel is like nowadays. The multiverse exists, and so everyone has a chance of returning. And according to reliable insider DanielRPK, Berry is finalising her talks to reprise her role.
Berry has played it coy when asked about appearing the the upcoming ensemble movie. When ComicBookMovie asked her about reprising her role in 2o24, she replied: “You never know. We’ll find out!”
Berry would join a number of former X-Men co-stars in the new Avengers movie. This includes Ian McKellen (Magneto), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Kelsey Grammer (Beast), and James Marsden (Cyclops). That’s right folks, mutants are very much making themselves front and centre of the MCU. We love to see it.
Avengers: Doomsday is slated to release on May 1, 2026.
Bring on the Storm!
