The multiple Eisner, Harvey, Ringo, and Hugo Award winning New York Times bestselling series, Monstress by Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda, marks its 10-year anniversary in style.
In celebration of the milestone, 10-year anniversary of fantasy masterwork Monstress by Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda, fans will be treated to a very special reprint of the iconic Monstress, Vol. 1 trade paperback — featuring a very special luxe gold foil treatment. It’s a must-but edition for fans. Since the series launched in 2015 from Image Comics, it’s had a range of reprints and editions, including enormous Compendium Edition prints.
For those unfamiliar with Monstress, the series sets the scene in an alternate 1900s Asia, with an art deco-infused steampunk aesthetic that’s brimming with arcane dangers. Within this unique and gorgeously realised landscape, a teenage girl struggles to overcome the trauma of war, a task that’s made all the more difficult by her mysterious psychic link to an eldritch monster of tremendous power—a connection that will transform them both, and place them in the crosshairs of both human and otherworldly powers.
Given its scope and scale, Monstress has become a series spoken about in the same sentences as George R.R. Martin and J.R.R. Tolkien. If that isn’t the highest praise imaginable, I don’t know what is.
