It’s hard to imagine anyone else playing Deadpool who isn’t Ryan Reynolds. But we can make an exception for Neil Patrick Harris, who voices the Merc with a Mouth in an upcoming VR video game!
Step into the beautifully chaotic, bloody, hilarious, and action-packed world of Deadpool in Marvel‘s trailer of Deadpool VR. Made for Meta Quest, the virtual reality game immerses you in Deadpool’s universe — quite literally, with the character himself proclaiming “All your dreams of coming inside me come true in VR!”
Created by Twisted Pixel and Oculus Studios with Marvel Games, Deadpool VR is a gloriously animated VR experience. Stylistically, it seems to lend a lot from Borderlands. It’s bursting with colour, like a comic come to life. Plus, the trailer debuts Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother, A Series of Unfortunate Events) absolutely smashing it as Deadpool. Take a look at the newly-released trailer below:
In the game, Deadpool is thrust into Mojoworld, where he (unwittingly) signs a contract that sees him bouncing across numerous known and unknown corners of the Marvel universe, battling it out agains iconic and new villains. Gamers will be able to fight using a range of weapons and techniques, harnessing parkour as a means of getting around. Expect a high-octane, wild ride from beginning to end — would we really expect anything less from a Deadpool game?
No specific release date has been set for Deadpool VR yet, but the developer has confirmed that it’ll be out late 2025.
Where else can you see Deadpool in 2025?
While Deadpool hasn’t featured in any movies this year, it’s still shaping up to be a big year for the Merc with a Mouth. One of our most anticipated projects arrives later this year, when he’ll face off against Batman in the first Marvel-DC crossover event in over two decades!
