Writer: Warren Ellis
Artists: Stuart Immonen(p), Wade von Grawbadger(i), Dave McCaig(c)
Publisher: Marvel

This is a somewhat troubling issue of Nextwave: Agents Of Hate. It seems that Warren Ellis took a vacation from conceiving funny jokes and just hoped Stuart Immonen's, Wade von Grawbadger's and Dave McCaig's illustrative might would carry the book.

Immonen, von Grawbadger and McCaig's artwork is formidable, especially for this issue. They alter their styles to recognize their peers and on occasion legends in comic book art. The artists for instance evoke for a section of panels the work of Gene Colan as inked by Tom Palmer. In other instances they mimic Keith Giffin and Mike Mignola. This though isn't enough.

Ellis gets in one good joke toward the end of the book. When Forbish Man meets Tabitha Smith, "Zomg" the sparks fly.

The Ellisonian

Nega-Band--Cosmic golden bracelets once imprisoning either Captain Marvel or Rick Jones when the other manifested.

Ghost of Space--"Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace Ghoooooooooooooooost!"

"Kneel before Zo"--One letter away from being completely obvious.
