Prepare for an all-new fantasy adventure! Acclaimed comics writer Rick Remender is teaming up with New York Times best-selling cartoonist Farel Dalrymple for The Terrific Teacups — coming in October.
Image Comics has announced The Terrific Teacups, a whimsical fantasy adventure graphic novel from Rick Remender (The Sacrificers, Grommets, Deadly Class) and Farel Dalrymple (The Wrenchies, Pop Gun War). The upcoming graphic novel marks their first-ever collaboration.
The Terrific Teacups is inspired by legendary stories from the genre, including Little Nemo and Howl’s Moving Castle. The graphic novel promises to ‘enchant and delight’ readers of all ages. Check out the official synopsis:
During another mundane, grey day in London Jungle, siblings Dennis and Dade discover that the world was once a bright and cheerful place, and that the heroes of their favorite book, The Terrific Teacups, were more than merely works of fiction—they were the pachyderm pair that kept the city safe from the nefarious creatures who now rule it. Now the daring siblings must find a way to bring their heroes back and restore beauty and color to a world that has forgotten it.
“Farel is one of the most innovative artists in the world today,” said Remender, per CBR. “It has long been a dream to get to create something personal together, and there is nothing more personal than the Terrific Teacup stories I told my kids as they grew up. Seeing him lovingly paint these characters into existence has been one of the greatest joys of my career and the result is this phenomenal book.”
Dalrymple added: “Getting to play around with the vibrant worlds and exciting characters Rick creates has been a dream of mine since we first met, nearly 20 years ago. I believe we’ve managed to create a unique, moving, and cool book, and something readers of all ages will enjoy.”
The Terrific Teacups releases October 10 in comic book stores. Image is also releasing the graphic novel in a gorgeous deluxe hardcover format. Will you be picking it up? Tell us in the comments down below!
