Prepare to enter a world of nightmares in Zander Cannon’s upcoming horror comic Sleep, coming to a store near you next month!
Image Comics has been smashing it in 2025 so far. We’ve already given out two 5-star reviews to two brilliant works: Assorted Crisis Events and Exquisite Corpses. From those aforementioned, to Lost Fantasy and Bug Wars, there’s so much outstanding content coming out of Image recently, and now there’s another work you need on your pull lists.
This week, Image unveiled a first look upcoming 8-issue horror-mystery series Sleep by acclaimed cartoonist Zander Cannon (Kaijumax, Smax, Heck**, Top 10). The bone-chilling comic promises to be pure nightmare fuel. The official synopsis reads: When Jonathan Reason falls asleep, he becomes…something else. Every night, it stalks his quiet town, killing (seemingly) indiscriminately. When he wakes, covered in blood, our story begins. This new horror mystery explores the horrifying waking hours of an unwilling part-time killer.
The comic is cited as the perfect read for fans of James Tynion IV & Joshua Hixson’s The Deviant and Doug Wagner and Daniel Hillyard’s I Was a Fashion School Serial Killer. Not bad company to be compared to!
Issue #1 also has a stunningly creepy variant cover by top artist Ryan Browne (The Lucky Devils, Eight Billion Genies).
