‘Stranger Things’ Star Sadie Sink Joins Tom Holland’s Next ‘Spider-Man’ Movie

Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink has reportedly signed on to star alongside Tom Holland in the next Spider-Man movie!

Production on the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s next Spider-Man movie commences later this year. There’s very little details about the picture, but we know that Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker for the first time since Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). Plus, Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) is directing. And Amy Pascal and Marvel President Kevin Feige will produce.

And now, per Deadline, we’ve got our first major piece of casting news: 22-year-old Stranger Things star Sadie Sink, who plays Max in the Netflix series, has reportedly signed on to the next movie. Neither Sony nor Marvel have commented on this casting yet. Additionally, there’s currently no word on who she’s playing.

However, with that said, the most prevalent theory sees her as beloved X-Men character Jean Grey. The character was previously played by Sophie Turner in the X-Men movie franchise.

2025 us already proving to be a super busy year for Holland. The British actor is currently filming Christopher Nolan’s ensemble epic The Odyssey. Once that wraps, he swings back to Spider-Man.

Of course, Sadie Sink will return as Max in the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, coming to Netflix later this year. Stranger Things 5 is one of the most anticipated shows of 2025.

Marvel’s currently untitled upcoming Spider-Man movie is slated to premiere in Summer 2026 — just after the Russo Brothers drop Avengers: Doomsday in May 2026. The next MCU project is Thunderbolts*, which premieres in theatres on May 2. You can learn more about which Marvel and DC blockbusters are coming up in 2025 here.
