Looks like comics are back in full force, with Image being the publisher to watch with some major releases, a couple of which are highlighted below. Also, it’s time to take another spin with DC’s resident speedster as a comic run nears its 100th issue.
The Flash #755 (DC Comics)
(w) Joshua Williamson (a) Rafa Sandoval, Jordi Tarragona
One of the last writers to remain on their title from DC Rebirth (the other inexplicably being Scott Lobdell on Red Hood and the Outlaws), Joshua Willamson’s run on The Flash is nearing its conclusion, but we’ll have a complete retrospective at that time. For now, we can look forward to the
conclusion of “Flash Age,” which sees Barry Allen teaming up with Eobard Thawne. Williamson’s run has taken a lot of unique twists and turns, but “Flash Age” has arguably been the craziest to date. How it wraps up is anyone’s guess.
Undiscovered Country #6 (Image Comics)
(w) Scott Snyder, Charles Soule (a) Giuseppe Camuncoli
No offense to Scott Snyder’s DC work, but the dude needs to be doing more of these team-up stories for independent publishers. After teaming up with Jeff Lemire for A.D. After Death, Snyder and Charles Soule’s Undiscovered Country manages to show a fucked up version of the United States that is sadly believable given the past few years. Meanwhile, Giuseppe Camuncoli’s art is wonderful, as this series seems to be the one he was born to draw.
Decorum #2 (Image Comics)
(w) Jonathan Hickman (a) Mike Huddleston
The first issue of Decorum was absolutely amazing, so it stands to reason that its second issue will be making this column. Expertly written and stunningly illustrated, Decorum should not be missed.
