Calling all Wheel of Time fans! We have the comic for you. Introducing The Tellos Saga. The comic began its journey back in 1999. Written by Todd Dezago (Spider-Man: Identity Crisis) and illustrated by the late, legendary Mike Wieringo, the series was published independently from Image Comics. The story ran for 10 issues, with accompanying one-shot tales including Maiden Voyage, The Last Heist, Sons and Moons, and the Tales of Tellos miniseries. Over the years, the world of Tellos has garnered a devoted, passionate fanbase.

So what’s it all about? The Tellos Saga is an epic, swashbuckling fantasy along the same lines as iconic works like The Wheel of Time and Dungeons & Dragons. We follow Jarek, a young boy, and his buddy tiger companion, Koj, on their adventures across the mystical and magical world of Tellos. On their journey, they encounter numerous diverse friends and foes… and they end up going head to head with dark sorcerer Malesur, whose intention is to plunge the world into eternal darkness. Yes, it is filled to the brim with genre clichés, but who’s complaining?

Tellos is told through vibrant, cartoon-influenced art from Wieringo. There’s so many rich landscapes to behold. And Dezago’s writing offers up plenty of emotion, action, and adventure. For such a fantastic work and showing of the comics medium, The Tellos Saga more than deserves to be mentioned alongside genre greats.
