‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ Will Not Feature at SDCC 2025

We’ve got a disappointing update for fans anticipating a panel for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow at San Diego Comic Con. Sadly, the upcoming DC movie will not feature at the event.

Over the last few years, superhero movies have been a staple at San Diego Comic Con. Perhaps most notably, Marvel Studios has dominated the illustrious Hall H, revealing upcoming projects and cast information. DC, too has been a key part of SDCC. Last year, during the “Jim Lee & Friends” panel, James Gunn (co-CEO of DC Studios) took to stage to reveal the all-new animated intro and fresh DC Studios logo. As well as this, we got a first glimpse at animated series Creature Commandos — the first project in the all-new continuity.

While it might seem like this year will be a big one for DC Studios in Hall H, there’s a few notable omissions. Given the release of Superman in July and, of course, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow in 2026, fans expected to see some news and content from the upcoming flick. However, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, DC at SDCC will instead have a heavy focus on Peacemaker season 2, which is slated for release in August.

“Simply, neither Superman nor Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow are slated to be have Hall H panels,” the report reads. “SDCC is two weeks after Superman arrives in theaters, so the company won’t be doing anything on that front.”

DC’s presence at SDCC will instead be spearheaded by Peacemaker season 2. The series, a spinoff from James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, coming to HBO Max on August 21. Fans can expect to see the all-new opening dance, as well as a trailer.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow debuts in June 2026

As for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, the SDCC event likely comes too soon for any content to be revealed. The 2026 movie will be the second film in the new continuity after Superman, making up Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. Directed by Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya, Cruella), the movie stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Jason Momoa as Lobo, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, as well as David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham as Supergirl’s parents Zor‑El and Alura. Naturally, Krypto the Superdog is also involved.

The movie takes inspiration from the seminal Tom King/Bilquis Evely comic. Want to get ahead of the curve? You can pick up the graphic novel here.
