Publisher Image Comics has a couple of new and exciting series in the pipeline. In this post, we take a look at what’s in store for August 2025.
The first half of 2025 has been pretty outstanding for Image Comics. There’ve been numerous standout series, from Exquisite Corpses, to Invincible Universe: Battle Beast, to Assorted Crisis Events, and so on. We’ve documented the best new series so far here.
August 2025 is a month of continuations and finales. For instance, breakout series like News From the Fallout and Lost Fantasy continue, while Bug Wars reaches its conclusion with issue #6. There’s not too much in terms of new series, but there’s a couple of standout entries.
Let’s take a look at every new series and graphic novels launching in August 2025 from Image Comics:
- STAY OUT OF THE WOODS: This series comes from Eisner Award winner Joe Pruett (X-Men, Voices in My Head) and fan-favorite artist Butch Guice (Captain America, Flash). The story follows three young friends have to confront their own childhood fears, undead creatures that stalk the living, an enigmatic tree that seemingly collects souls, and an ancient forest entity that seeks to reclaim these lands as its own. Perfect for fans of Pan’s Labyrinth and IT.
- ESCAPE: Created by Rick Remender (Deadly Class, Uncanny X-Force) and Daniel Acuña (Captain America). Described as a savage, full-throttle wartime thriller where survival isn’t given…it’s taken. Four-issue series.
- UNIVERSAL MONSTERS: THE INVISIBLE MAN: The Universal Monsters series has been a massive success at Image. Next up is The Invisible Man, a comic version of the seminal horror story by H.G. Wells. Written by James Tynion IV with art by DANI & Brad Simpson.
- THE MAN WHO DREAMT THE IMPOSSIBLE A TRIBUTE TO JACK KIRBY: A fictionalised graphic novel tribute to one of the most coveted names in the medium. From writer Mário Freitas and artist Lucas Pereira.
