Avengers: Doomsday will hit screens in December 2026, but that won’t stop us from reading into every detail. Most recently, we’ve stumbled across a new synopsis for the movie, which teases the introduction of Doctor Doom!
The MCU is pulling out all the stops for Doomsday. Of course, dozens of fan-favorite heroes are confirmed to return, including legacy X-Men stars and the all-new Fantastic Four. It’s going to be the most packed MCU film of all time, and let’s face it, probably the most saturated movie ever made. In fact, franchise legend Robert Downey Jr. is also making his triumphant return… as Doctor Doom.
Now, thanks to a post shared on X showing off Walt Disney Marketing Expo in Shanghai, it also contained an all-new longline teasing Doctor Doom, and the chaos he’s about to unleash on the Marvel Universe. Check it out:
“Doctor Doom has officially arrived in the MCU. This villain, a master of cutting-edge science and powerful magic, will unleash a cascading crisis across the entire multiverse.”
It’s not much, but we’ll take whatever little tidbits we can get, right?
Stars of the movie has been rhapsodising about it in recent weeks. Most recently, David Harbour (Red Guardian) teased that Doomsday has exceeded all of his expectations. ”I was not even convinced when we started, and this movie’s gonna be really good. [The Russo Brothers] have a special sauce … There’s something about the layers in which they put the comedy, drama, surprises, scale, and the epicness … all that stuff. It’s incredible,” he said.
Avengers: Doomsday will no doubt be the biggest and greatest MCU event since Endgame. The movie opens on December 18, 2026.
