One-Shot ‘Swamp Thing is Killing the Children’ Coming from DC and BOOM! Studios

Fan of Swamp Thing? What about Something is Killing the Children? Well, both DC and BOOM! Studios are cooking up a one-shot crossover special, aptly titled Swamp Thing is Killing the Children

For the first time ever, BOOM! Studios‘ award winning comic book series, co-created by James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera, Something is Killing the Children, is crossing over with DC’s Swamp Thing — and we’re very excited.

Before taking on Something is Killing the Children, James Tynion IV dipped his feet in Swamp Thing stories at DC, although he was never the primary nor long-term writer of the character. He worked on Justice League Dark (2018–2021), which featured Swamp Thing as part of the core team.

Seeing a crossover between the two mammoth IPs is particularly exciting for all. “It’s such an incredible thing to see Erica Slaughter next to Swamp Thing” said Josh Hayes, Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing at BOOM! Studios.  “Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson are synonymous with comics I grew up on, and absolute masters of their craft.  To have modern masters like James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera telling a tale like this is something – I mean Swamp Thing that I can’t wait to read!”

“I’ll admit the sheer brilliance of the title alone was reason enough to get excited about this,” said Chris Conroy, Executive Editor for the DC Black Label imprint, “but James and Werther have gone deep and created a story that’s just as ambitious as any of the other classics in the Swamp Thing library. I think fans of both the SlaughterVerse and of the darker side of DC comics are going to be shocked and delighted when they see what we’ve been up to!”

No plot details have been revealed yet. There’s also no release date for Swamp Thing is Killing the Children, but we’ll keep you posted!
