Over 20 years since it debuted, Invincible Universe series Capes is returning, remastered and better than ever before. And there’s plenty of stunning variant covers to celebrate the release!
Skybound and Image Comics unveiled a new lineup of covers for the long out-of-print and very much in-demand comic book series Capes. Over 20 years since its debut, Capes returns with a special remastering, featuring new art and dialogue from the original creative team of Robert Kirkman (Invincible, The Walking Dead, TRANSFORMERS) and Mark Englert (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Hack/Slash).
“Okay, first of all, Capes is a riot and features some of the best characters in the Invincible Universe,” said Senior Editor Nachie Marsham. “But, as you’ll see in the books, it’s also a cool way to showcase Kirkman and Englert’s storytelling and ideas over the years, and a chance to see what’s coming in the future.”
The official synopsis for Capes #1 reads: BOLT! KID THOR! KNOCK OUT! CAPTAIN COSMIC! CLAIRE VOYANT! BIG BRAIN! COMMANDER CAPITALISM! Welcome to Capes Inc, employers of your favorite superheroes that protect New York City – well, at least when they’re on the clock – from threats like MACHINE HEAD, TITAN…and now are in the crosshairs of an enemy they never expected!
