Robert Kirkman & Ryan Ottley’s Invincible Universe: Battle Beast Returns in 2026

Invincible fans, rejoice! Skybound and Image Comics announced the highly-anticipated return of the hit series Invincible Universe: Battle Beast with issue #7, coming in March 2026.

Battle Beast has grown into one of the most popular figures in Robert Kirkman’s beloved Invincible Universe. Battle Beast is a super powerful intergalactic warrior. His sole purpose is to seek out an opponent worthy of giving him an honourable death. He got his own series in early 2025, from co-creator/writer Robert Kirkman, co-creator/artist Ryan Ottley (The Amazing Spider-Man), colorist Annalisa Leoni (Cobra Commander), and letterer Rus Wooton (The Walking Dead). The series was a massive hit, and has already been compiled into a TPD edition.

Issue #7 kicks off a new blood-soaked epic, as Battle Beast now faces the two most dangerous enemies of his lifetime (including the all-powerful Viltrumites). The longline reads: Even in a universe of mighty Viltrumites like Invincible and Omni-Man, it seems that no one may be able to stop the galaxy’s deadliest warrior…unless he does the unthinkable. A new story arc begins as Battle Beast continues his quest to find the one being who can defeat him in battle and end his life.
