Everyone’s favourite lasagna loving, Monday-hating cat, Garfield, returns for more adventures in comics this March!
Garfield fans, rejoice! Publisher BOOM! Studios has just announced an all-new Garfield series called Baby Garfield, navigating a series of ‘firsts’ in the fan-favorite feline’s life.
The series consists of four issues, containing different stories written and illustrated by esteemed teams of creatives. Issue #1 contains two short stories brimming with humor: writer Grace Ellis (Lumberjanes) and artist Asia Simone (Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur) capture Garfield’s very first word, while writer Michael Northrop (Dear Justice League) and artist Rob Justus (Superman’s Good Guy Gang) commemorate the often overlooked, but just as moving milestone…Garfield’s first hairball!
The official description reads: A baby’s big little moments are some of the most special and cherished experiences for doting parents—pet parents included! Join the sassy but oh-so-adorable baby Garfield in navigating a series of universal “firsts” in this positively silly new comic series perfect for Garfield-lovers, feline fanatics, and readers of all ages.
Additional creators lending their talents to this feel-good series include Ben Clanton (Narwhal and Jelly), Stephanie Cooke (The Racc Pack), Brittany Williams (Mixed-Up), Whitney Gardner (Free Piano), Jordan Morris (Youth Group), Olivia Amoah (Here Are The Seeds), and Kay Davault (Misfit Mansion).
BABY GARFIELD #1 features main cover art by Agnes Garbowska and colors by Sil Brys, with variants by Rob Justus and Asia Simone. Issue #1 debuts on March 18, 2026. It is available for pre-order at your local comic shop. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including Kindle, iBooks, and Google Play.
